Project period: July 2024 to December 2027

Major interventions:

Output 1: Urban projects with a focus on inclusion and climate resilience are identified, included and further codesigned in the annual plan of the target municipality through a participatory process, with engagement of municipal women officials/ representatives.

Activity 1: Organize training programs to strengthen the capacity of the municipal officials and elected representatives to internalize and implement the Municipal Planning Guideline (experts to be provided by project)

Activity 2: Organise series of participatory and women-focused workshops, community mappings and data collection interactions in the target municipality embedded in the 7-step planning process by testing the Manual for gender-responsive local decision making and to inform the Municipal Planning Guideline generated by the project. (experts to be provided by project)

Activity 3: Co-design urban interventions through participatory process, at the ward level based on gender and climate resilience principles, with women leaders/ officials engaged in designing and implementation process

Activity 4: Organize a final atelier with local representatives and national representatives to share the manuals and learnings.

Output 2: Municipal co-financing mechanism created to further implement the Proof-of-concept projects prioritized by the communities.

Activity 1: Organize trainings to strengthen municipal financial/revenue generation/ management capacity to mobilize resources for funding and management of social infrastructure. (experts to be provided by project)

Activity 2: Provide needed human resources to support in project implementation at the municipal/ward levels. (Social mobilizer and Sub-engineer)

Activity 3: Organize series of participatory workshops/meetings to build capacity of the women in identifying, designing, implementation monitoring of the projects.

Activity 4: Carry out community consultations to ensure the needs identified are met by the projects during the
